Your Daily Oral Hygiene Regimen Needs to Include Your New Partial Denture

Posted .

The partial denture created for you at Burton Dental Care’s dental office was designed to fully replicate the presence, appearance, and function of your missing teeth. Even though it will not be vulnerable to cavities, you will still need to include it as an integral part of your daily oral hygiene regimen.

If you like to use denture adhesive to hold your partial denture in place, it will require a few minor cleaning considerations. Should a few food particles get stuck in the space between the partial and your gums, you should thoroughly rinse the unit and reapply fresh adhesive.

Before going to bed at night you will need to rinse your partial denture to remove any residual denture adhesive and loosen minor food deposits. This will provide you with a smooth surface when you reapply a fresh bead the next morning.

Once this is done you will need to lightly brush the partial denture with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a brand of denture polish that’s been approved by the American Dental Association. You can then store your partial denture overnight by soaking it in water or storing it in the case provided. Just be sure to tuck it away in a safe place.

With your partial denture thoroughly cleaned, you can then continue brushing and flossing your natural teeth.
